Oh! There is so much to tell! I could talk about the wide spread panic regarding the swine flu which is shutting down ALL the schools in the country and how I have truly seen kids walking around with masks. Don't worry I have refrained from kissing pigs. Or I could talk about Rita carrying around sandwich baggies of splenda (or creamer-I'm not sure) which could be mistaken as crack and how I REALLY don't want to call her husband to bail her out of Guatemalan jail. Or I could talk about how I'm getting over the not volunteering thing because I'm meeting a friend (Fernando) from last year for dinner next week, another friend (Rocxana) from last year facebooked me asking when we could meet up, and I made friends with group from Texas, Iowa, Holland, and Switzerland at Reilly's. That place is totally my "Cheers"! My point is I won't be bored like I thought.
Since there is too much to tell in one post, I leave you with a pic for Amber. It's pepian (chicken stew that is to die for), a traditional Guatemalan food I LOVE! Silvia made it for us yesterday since we did not go on the school excursion where they were serving it. She also made Rellinitos (fried plantain with sweet beans), another of my favorites. I promise more food pics later, Amber.
