The Wedding Day

Ashley is hitched! It was perfect and so much fun. She and I both got our hair and nails done by Hai's aunts and then our make up done as well. It was like our own personal spa. The Ao Dai ended up working with a few adjustments but I still changed after (so did the best man and ring bearer). The background for the ceremony was awesome! White sand and turquoise water...can't get better than that. We danced, ate, and drank, while Ashley determined which bum belonged to her new husband, moved eggs from one of his pant legs to the other, and ate cherries blindfolded from his lap. Don't ask! The kids filled in to help me sing an ADPi song to her but I'm hoping RahDeDah is sang at her Houston reception. After the wedding we had a pool party and I didn't get to sleep until after 2 AM and had to be up at 4 AM to make an airport shuttle. That made for a great day but that is a whole other post. Overall great time and I am happy for the new Mrs. Nguyen! Congrats!
I meant to interview one of Hai's cousins regarding all the Vietnamese traditions but ran out of time so here are some quotes from the trip instead (no explanations just for fun):

-Of course they're angry. They're married-FOB
-You don't swing with your family.-bride
-Vietnamese is tonal, southern is an accent.-FOB
-The Vietnamese are the last true Americans.-FOB
-2 babies is fine but 4 is too much.-MOG
-Hoooolaaaaah-one of the cousins
-I want masking tape in the trees at my wedding-SIL of bride.
-Are you lactating? Because I need some leche-groom
-I am so happy for them-everyone there
